Bikes

At mountain bike camp we roll over logs, schralp over gravel, rip over rocks, and climb, climb, climb, just to descend! In order to participate, yes you need enthusiasm, but equally important is equipment. Your bike has to be able to rip as hard as you and whether you already own a bike or are in the market for a new one, you are in the right place to find out what bikes we like at MBM.

*Although we talked more about BMX bikes above we want to note, just to be clear, other bikes like road and cruisers are also not appropriate and commuter bikes are not encouraged*

Buying Bikes

Although there are a couple places in town to buy bikes, we would highly recommend buying one that will sustain some hard riding, and therefore spending a little more can really help in the long run. Talk to someone at the store with experience and knowledge to get the best suited bike. More bang for your buck!

Better bikes last longer (pass down to younger siblings!), are easier to fix and have a higher resale value. If a brand new bike isn’t in the budget, look on your local buy/sell/trade pages and websites. Better quality bikes become more affordable when second hand or try looking online (although you won’t be able to try them out first).
